The Dog Park
Enjoy a day out with your furry friends!

All bookings at Neralu are exclusive - you and your party will not be sharing the space with any other guests during your visit. Dogs can be off-leash in most parts of the farm.
Guests get to enjoy the privacy of the farm and have their pets off-leash without having to worry about other people, other dogs, traffic and other such unwanted concerns. Dogs can run around completely untethered and discover everything that the farm has to offer at their own pace. The static nature of the stimuli at the farm makes it a haven for exploration and goofing about.

Pets are the responsibilty of their parents and we leave it to their comfort levels when it comes to having their pets off-leash. If your pet does not have good recall and has a tendency to run away, we recommend carrying a long leash to the farm. We have one that can be rented on site if required.

We have just one on-leash area on the farm, and that's near the parking and common area. We request guests to please respect the on-leash and off-leash zones on the farm as we have other farm animals that might not always be comfortable with your pets (or vice versa)

Guests will have access to the entire 14 acres of our farm, and exclusive access to the lake and the stream for the dogs to swim in. Dogs can be off-leash in 13 acres of the farm. Guests can get into the water in select areas (ONLY) of the stream due to safety reasons.

Guests can request for a tour of our farm to see how we do what we do, and can also pick up some of our seasonal produce/products at our store at the end of their visit.
OUR FOOD FOREST
We practice a form of agriculture called Agro-Forestry, through natural farming. This means that we're trying to recreate a forest environment on the farm, through completely natural farming practices. We do not use any pesticides or fertilizers (not even organic ones) and you will not even see the presence of any greenhouses on our premises. The underlying philosophy is that Nature knows best, and we're just trying to create an environment that's conducive for Mother Nature to do her thing.

VARIETY AND BALANCE
We have over 40 different fruiting trees on the farm, and we have multiple varieties among those too. We grow 6 types of banana, 4 types of papaya, 14 varieties of mango, among others. And apart from our crop yielding trees, we have also planted a number of forest variety and flowering trees to simulate a forest ecosystem. The biodiversity in the flora will attract the biodiversity in the fauna because we are trying to provide both, feeding and nesting opportunities to as many species as possible. The understanding is that whether we recognize it or not, all of these birds, reptiles, critters and all the things they do play a vital part in maintaining the balance of our delicate ecosystem.

SOIL AND WATER
Soil preservation and water conservation have been instrumental in making our ecosystem possible. Every drop of water that lands on the farm should stay in the farm, and we have contoured our farm to trap water to ensure it moves vertically into the soil and not horizontally on the surface, taking precious nutrients and resources with it. Building up the quality of our soil to sustain the ecosystem through the changing seasons has been a 30 year effort and continues to be a key area of focus on the farm.

Our Products
Ours is a fruit orchard that boasts over forty different kinds of fruits, with a number of varieties among them too. Mixed in between these trees is a smattering of spices, berries, creepers and flowering plants that add to the vast biodiversity in our food forest. We try to use as much of the produce that we grow to create or recreate some of our favourite recipes.
All of our produce is grown without the use of any chemical pesticides or fertilizers. in fact, we refrain from even using organic pesticides and fertilizers (as much as possible) to retain the "natural" aspect of our farming practices. We allow Mother Nature to manage pests in her own wonderful ways. Similarly, our products too are made without the use of any preservatives or artificial ingredients. We take great care to hand-select the best of our produce to turn into products. Every step of the process from harvesting and washing, to preparation and packaging is done in small batches, and more importantly, done by hand. We employ local workers to help us in making our pickles, powders and chutneys and everything is done in-house.
We try to reflect the incredible variety and complexity of native cuisine from around the country in the products that we make. Since we have a large number of different plants growing on the farm, we are in a unique position to make and demonstrate the different types of condiments that add flavour to our beloved cuisines.
